On his social media account, Minister Koca shared the following information about the 'Grey Code' to be launched against violence in healthcare.
"If a White Code is given when a violent incident occurs, the judicial process begins immediately. If a healthcare professional gives a White Code, they may act hesitantly, thinking about the process. The need for a White Code can be reduced with a simpler intervention, and most violent incidents can be prevented before they even pass that threshold. We considered the GRAY CODE as a solution to prevent the transformation of tendency to violence to a violent behavior. WHITE CODE will continue in the same way.
When a Gray Code is given, hospital security and hospital police are informed of the situation to make the necessary intervention. The hospital police notify the police center of an incident that would require a White Code, an incident that is likely to turn into violence. There are a hospital security side and a law enforcement side. Law enforcement will be standing by in a Ready Code state.
It will be put into effect together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Teams from the two ministries worked out the details together. They made preparations and all scenarios were reviewed. Now the software is being developed. When the software is ready, it will start. We are so close.”
