Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu went to Hatay on Friday, 23 August 2024, to meet with provincial authorities and conduct on-site inspections of primary, secondary and tertiary health facilities. Memişoğlu visited Hatay Training and Research Hospital, Defne State Hospital, Habibi Neccar Family Health Center and Emergency Health Services Station No. 11, chatted with healthcare professionals about the needs in the province and listened to their opinions. Minister of Health Memişoğlu thanked healthcare professionals for their devoted work. Memişoğlu also toured Hatay with his delegation and listened to the problems and requests of the citizens. Completing his visits, Memişoğlu held a Provincial Assessment Meeting with the authorities in the province, and received detailed information from the authorities about the status and needs of Hatay in the healthcare field, and made a press statement after the meeting. Memişoğlu said in his press statement that Hatay is being restructured after the devastating earthquakes and becomes the symbol of the power. “There are some shortcomings, but these also will be overcome. In essence, our friends here, our nation, our state are creating a new Hatay. For this reason, we are trying to serve them with admiration and by giving all kinds of support. I recommend those who want to see the power of Türkiye to come and visit Hatay. History has shown and is showing today how this nation and state really shows its power when it is in trouble. For this reason, I would like to start by expressing my gratitude and appreciation to everyone, especially our President.” he said. Touching on the issue of M-Pox disease, Memişoğlu said, “Just as we have seen the success of our health system and employees in COVID-19, rest assured that we have both the manpower and the health infrastructure to solve any kind of epidemic, any kind of disease, any kind of health-related problem. We believe that people will overcome such epidemics not with panic or fear, but with precautions, measures, planning, and preparation. Therefore, we especially want our society to trust what we, the official authorities, say and know that we have made all kinds of preparations, and that we can overcome them, whether it is M-Pox or other epidemics.”
