Turkey extended a hand of compassion for Niger. A protocol was signed for the operation of Niger-Turkey Hospital of Friendship constructed by TIKA.
Health Minister Dr. Ahmet Demircan stated that Turkey was pleased to share her big achievements in the field of health with the friendly countries and such sharing would be even more fruitful if based on mutual cooperation.
Through the Protocol signed by Health Minister Dr. Ahmet Demircan and Health Minister of Niger Dr. Idi Iliassou Mainassara, such issues as inauguration, joint operation and transfer of the hospital are established.
Health Minister of Niger thanked to Turkey for her contributions and stated that cooperation between two countries would strengthen the friendship ties.
Underlining that working together was a must for fruitful cooperation, Dr. Demircan added that “What is important is to define what we can do together, which is indispensable for the permanency of our efforts. In addition to financial and technical supports, we can also provide trained health manpower. We must train the human force together so that this cooperation yield to successful results. We may establish a training application center at the hospital.”
Another cooperation agreement was signed between Turkey and Zambia. The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of health was signed by Health Minister Dr. Ahmet Demircan and Health Minister of Zambia Chitalu Chilufya.
The two countries will make cooperation and share experiences in the specified areas. Working teams will be established and cooperation areas will be determined for this purpose.
