Ödemiş State Hospital was inaugurated with the participation of H.E. Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and Health Minister Dr. Ahmet Demircan. Around 650 personnel will serve at this 300-bed hospital.
“In 2019, we will start domestic production of tetanus and diphtheria vaccines” In his speech,H.E. Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım talked about the current and future health investments and underlined the central position of human in all activities. Mentioning the health transformation process, he said that “16 years ago, the number of beds was 18 thousands, which is now increased to 108 thousands. There was 481 emergency wards while it is 2 thousands 137 now and the number of ambulances increased to 4 thousands 921 from 600. That is an immense service. We are providing the 6th level digital health services. We are implementing the 2d-code vaccination system for the first time in the world. We removed the obstacles for the disabled citizens through the implementation of health communication center dedicated to the disabled persons. Now it is possible to access a medical test result from any part of Turkey. We will produce the tetanus and diphtheria vaccines in Turkey as of 2019. We produce 80% of all medicines. We will contribute to the local industry by 6 billion 900 million through the production of medical equipment and medicines. We are doing everything to serve you better and we are working to improve the health and life quality of our citizens.”
300-bed hospital at the area of 32 thousands sqm
Providing information about the new hospital, H.E. Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said that this hospital has an area of 32 thousands sqm. It is a great hospital, three times bigger than the previous building. It costed 52 million. The number of beds in intensive care units increased to 36 from 26, the operation rooms to 8 from 6 and the maternity wards to 6 from 3. We also established a water birth center at this hospital. There will also be 20-bed palliative center. We are opening a modern hospital from the building to the polyclinics and personnel.”
“Now hospitals are as comfortable as 5-star hotels”
H.E. Health Minister Dr. Ahmet Demircan talked about the developments and improvements provided by the health transformation project and reminded of the old challenging days.
Underlining the availability of 5-star hotel comfort at the hospitals, Dr. Ahmet Demircan said that “We built modern hospitals for our citizens. We will complete restoration of health infrastructure in Turkey within a few years. We are also intensifying our efforts to train the necessary health manpower. We are constructing city hospitals that may set example for the whole world. We opened the 4 hospitals and 5 more will be opened within this year.”
Providing information about Ödemiş State Hospital, Dr. Ahmet Demircan said that around 650 personnel would serve at this 300-bed hospital.
“In the last 15 years, we made 4,5 billion TL investment in the field of health and big investments are still ongoing in Izmir. Construction of the Bayraklı City Hospital is still continuing and foundations of the second city hospital will also be laid after the location is determined.”
