Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu visited Elazığ on Saturday, 10 August 2024 to conduct on-site inspections and receive information from provincial authorities. Memişoğlu held meetings at the Elazığ Governorship and Elazığ Municipality and received information about health investments and health services in Elazığ. Following the meetings, Memişoğlu chatted with tradesmen and citizens together with the delegation accompanying him on his Elazığ trip and listened to their problems and demands.Minister of Health Memişoğlu Opened the Healthy Life Center in Elazığ Memişoğlu, who opened the “Healthy Life Center No. 3” that will be put into service in Elazığ and contribute to the strengthening of basic health services, made a speech at the ceremony. Emphasizing the role of preventive health services in his speech, Memişoğlu underlined the importance of healthy diet, physical activity and good habits. Memişoğlu said, “Healthy Life Centers are critical for preventive health services. Today our society faces three biggest risks. One of them is weight, obesity, and malnutrition. Especially in children, weight rates have unfortunately increased after the COVID-19 outbreak. What will this cause when we get older? Heart disease, joint disease, and unfortunately, circulatory system diseases, which are the biggest cause of death today, namely stroke, heart attack, and clot formation. The second is inactivity. This is where our physiotherapists, consultants, and dietitians will tell our people how our society should act and how to eat, free of charge. Our third biggest risk is addiction and a bad lifestyle, a stressful lifestyle along with these addictions. What are these? Smoking, substance addiction, internet addiction, and the effects of this on social life. We have a psychologist, a social worker, a child development specialist, a dietician, a physiotherapist. Most importantly, this is the most important place for people over the age of 40 to be screened for colon, breast and uterine cancer free of charge and to be directed to the hospital if they are suspected. Healthy Life Centers are our most important tools that provide these services to our people in their neighborhoods. We are currently opening the fourth one (in Elazığ). They continue to provide services in many places in many of our cities. As health services, we offer the best health service in the world under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and we can do this free of charge everywhere.” Continuing his field visits after the opening of Elazığ Healthy Life Center No. 3, Minister of Health Memişoğlu attended the Provincial Evaluation Meeting held at Elazığ Fethi Sekin City Hospital.
