Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca stated that childhood cancer treatment in Türkiye is at world standards and can be provided within the scope of General Health Insurance. In his post on the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day, Dr. Koca pointed out that every year, approximately 400 thousand children in the world and approximately 5 thousand children in Türkiye are diagnosed with cancer, and the majority of them are leukemia. Minister Koca said, “The treatment of childhood cancers can be done in our country at world standards and within the scope of General Health Insurance. Like all cancers, early diagnosis is important in these cancers.” In the video shared by Koca, Children's Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Namık Yaşar Özbek’s statements were also included. Özbek stated that most childhood cancers are not as easy to diagnose as adult cancers, and their symptoms can also be seen in other diseases. Özbek said, “Treatments are applied with the latest systems in our country. Bone marrow transplantation as an end treatment is also performed to a large extent in our country. Like all cancers, early diagnosis is important in childhood cancers. If precautions are taken before the cancer progresses, the treatment will be easier and will provide greater success.” For the video, please visit: https://twitter.com/drfahrettinkoca/status/1758179648247071143
