Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca visited the new building of Istanbul Kartal Dr. Lutfi Kırdar Training and Research Hospital and the new 1000-bed building of Istanbul Medeniyet University Goztepe Training and Research Hospital that will be inaugurated soon.
During his visit to Istanbul Medeniyet University Goztepe Training and Research Hospital, Health Minister provided statements for the journalists, and reminding that regulation on the depreciation of the healthcare professionals have been legalized, he further added:
“This important regulation includes several issues, one of which is legalization of 2-month depreciation share, that is to say ‘actual service increase’ for the healthcare professionals. Accordingly, pensions of the doctors will increase. Additional payment of TRY 1.533 for practitioners and TRY 2.500 for specialist doctors will be started. Maximum payment from the circulating capital was increased by five times in order to develop such qualified services as specialized medical services, cancer surgery and so on. Another innovation is the establishment of International Health Services Inc. – a company aiming to develop health tourism with the participation of universities, public hospitals and private sector, which means all these institutions will play a key role in creation of the planned centers of excellence and export of them to abroad.”
Concerning the recent violent acts against the healthcare professionals, Dr. Koca stated that
“We would like to provide a safe environment for the healthcare professionals. We can never accept violence against our personnel. We will make efforts to enact any regulation that may help improve the situation. We will make an initiative to re-establish the doctor-patient relationship on a sound basis.”
