Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu made his first field visit to Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the February 6 earthquakes. Minister Memişoğlu attended the Disaster Coordination Center Meeting held in Kahramanmaraş Governorship, and received information about the health service provision and health investment activities carried out in the region. “Like the other structures in the earthquake region, our health facilities in Kahramanmaraş were also severely damaged. During my visit today, I saw that we are a great state, a great nation. I am glad to see that many buildings destroyed in the Disaster of the Century are under reconstruction under the leadership of our President and that this important process continues with the dedication and love of the great Turkish nation.” said Minister Memişoğlu. “We have five hospitals under construction and they will be at the service of our people at the end of this year. I would especially like to point out that we will soon integrate our hospitals into the healthcare system. The process regarding the City Hospital, which our President called his dream, is now at the tender stage, and hopefully we will start its construction in the coming days. Our devoted healthcare workers are currently working under difficult physical conditions and making intense efforts to provide healthcare services. I would like to express my gratitude to all our healthcare professionals. We will make health services in Kahramanmaraş sustainable with modern facilities and appropriate physical conditions.” added Minister Memişoğlu.
