Speaking at the conference titled “Managing the Future of Health” held at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Congress and Culture Center, Deputy Minister of Health Şuayip Birinci said that health is the fastest changing field in the world. Stating that Türkiye has come a long way in health and our experiences are now becoming targets for others, Birinci added, “But there are many areas that we have left incomplete and where we can be better. Because health is not only an area that concerns the health system and the country, but also many elements that concern the individuals, therefore health should be established at every stage of life.” Birinci further stated that “The modern world has three goals. The first and most important part is to protect health. The process after being sick is very different. The second is to provide effective and qualified health and treatment services. The third is to develop cost-effective methods… As we get older, the health expenditure increases and has devastating effects on the country's economies.” Pointing out that urbanization is a big problem, Birinci continued his words as follows: “We need to switch to organizational models in technological cities where people can do all their work on foot. We need to constantly invest in our health. The most fundamental element of health care is people. No matter what you do, robots, devices and technology. There is nothing more valuable than a human being, people are at the center of everything. The need for healthcare is increasing because of old age. It is also increasing for another reason. Confidence in Türkiye’s healthcare system has increased so much that many people want to receive treatment in Türkiye.”
